Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of the Geography Education Study Program

The educational objectives of the Geography Education Study Program are broad statements describing the career and professional accomplishments that the program prepares graduates to achieve within 3–5 years after graduation. The PEOs are as follows:

  1. Academic
    Graduates are capable of developing their competencies and scientific knowledge through lifelong learning.

  2. Employability
    Graduates are able to become educators, writers, disaster analysts, regional analysts, and geopreneurs who are professional and possess integrity.

  3. Personal Skill
    Graduates are able to demonstrate leadership, serve as role models, show social responsibility, adhere to norms and ethics, and adapt to change as an implementation of Islamic values.

Graduates of the study program may pursue the following professional roles:

  1. Geography Educator
    An educator capable of planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing innovative geography learning media and processes.

  2. Writer
    A writer capable of producing scientific articles, popular articles, and books in the field of geography education.

  3. Disaster Analyst
    An analyst who can apply knowledge and skills in disaster studies and management.

  4. Regional Analyst
    An analyst skilled in applying Geographic Information System (GIS) knowledge and techniques in the field of regional planning and development.

  5. Geopreneur
    An entrepreneur who independently applies geographic skills in business ventures or in the development of professional networks.
