Words of Wisdom from FKIP and UMS Leaders
In his address, Prof. Dr. Sutama congratulated the graduates and emphasized the importance of adapting to the digital era:
“You are entering a new chapter in life, so it’s essential to master digital technology and develop skills relevant to your field of study. Remember, education takes place in four key environments: the home (parents), schools (teachers and lecturers), the community (public figures), and each of these deserves your appreciation—especially your family, without whom you wouldn’t be here today. As FKIP UMS alumni, you must continue to innovate, grow, and contribute to society.”
UMS Rector Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, M.Si. also delivered an inspiring message:
“UMS continues to be one of the top private universities in Indonesia. Teachers carry a great responsibility for educating the nation and shaping a brilliant future toward Golden Indonesia 2045. Education is the transformation of values—not only scientific and technological, but also ethical, religious, and cultural values that build human character.”
Motivation and Real-World Preparation
The event featured a motivational session led by Naufal Ishartono, M.Pd., Ph.D., an award-winning lecturer from the Mathematics Education program. He reminded graduates:
“Welcome to the real world. Challenges await, and you’ll need not only knowledge but also experience and networking to thrive. We are now living in a VUCA era—volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous—so be ready.”
Alumni Testimony and Celebratory Activities
The ceremony also featured a testimony by Muhammad Arif Prabawa, S.Pd., M.Pd., a dedicated and accomplished alumnus of the Mathematics Education program who currently serves as Principal of SD Unggulan Aisyiyah.

The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Muhammadiyah anthem Sang Surya, followed by farewell messages from graduates, group photos with faculty leaders and lecturers, and various performances including Tari Gambyong Marikangen and musical performances that added a festive atmosphere to the event.
