Muhammadiyah 2 Pemalang Senior High School Makes Educational Visit to FKIP UMS, Exploring Various Study Programs

Surakarta — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) welcomed a visit from SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pemalang on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
This activity was part of a campus introduction program for 11th-grade students aimed at providing firsthand insight into the academic environment of higher education, particularly at FKIP UMS.

The group, consisting of dozens of students and accompanying teachers, was warmly received by the FKIP leadership team in the faculty’s seminar room. In her opening remarks, Dr. Mauly Halwat Hikmat, Vice Dean I of FKIP UMS, expressed appreciation for the trust placed in FKIP UMS by SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pemalang.

“This visit is a valuable opportunity to introduce students to university life early on. We hope they gain a clearer understanding of study options that align with their interests and talents,” said Dr. Mauly.

Following the opening session and a presentation about FKIP UMS, the event continued with a tour of various study programs within the faculty, such as Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Mathematics Education, Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD), Guidance and Counseling, and Early Childhood Education (PAUD). At each department, students received direct explanations from lecturers or student representatives about academic activities, lab facilities, and career prospects for graduates.

The students showed great enthusiasm throughout the tour. They were also invited to try out several facilities, including the microteaching room, educational psychology lab, and practice rooms for arts and language learning.

The visit concluded with a group photo session, the exchange of souvenirs, and mutual hopes that the relationship and collaboration between SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pemalang and FKIP UMS would continue to grow in the future.
